Once you turn 20, any birthday that ends in a zero (euphemistically referred to by well-meaning friends as ‘special’) is a cause for soul-searching.
My most recent ‘special’ birthday had a 7 in it, as well as a 0 so it was something I’d not been looking forward to at all.
My family and friends had tried to make it ‘good-special’ but with the UK in lockdown, they were up against it from the start.
